Snowflake has embarked on a Data Cloud World Tour across 21 cities. The purpose of the Tour is to share the experience of Snowflake customers with a broad audience of partners, developers, and other customers; and to announce major feature releases and capabilities. I was pleased to attend the Mumbai event with my Next Pathway colleagues. The event showcased the innovation made possible by Snowflake by reinforcing global and cross cloud leverage, and governance across the three dimensions of knowing data, protecting data and collaborating with data. The event also demonstrated the power of iceberg tables, making application development fast and easy and a host of other features.
The sessions also covered important topics such as data privacy, support for multiple architectural patterns such as data lake, data mesh, and the development of high-performance applications which include the ability to analyze various data types and real-time visualizations.
The power of Snowflake is predicated on the ability to move legacy workloads to the Snowflake Data Cloud. This is where our partnership with Snowflake adds tremendous value to our mutual customers.
The Next Pathway has been translating and migrating legacy workloads to Snowflake since 2018. As a Premier Partner we have extensive experience with the Snowflake Data Cloud. Our approach and continuous innovation of our migration platform aligns well with the features that Snowflake announced. Our SHIFT Migration Suite is built on our smart translation engine that automatically translates legacy workloads and data pipelines into the cloud-native language of your desired cloud target.
But even before we start to translate a single line of code, our Crawler360 migration planning tool can scan though legacy workloads to identify critical information to illustrate the relationship and dependencies between code, ETL pipelines and consuming applications. Crawler360 can identify hot/cold spots which are invaluable when determining what to migrate and in what order. Crawler360 is an interactive tool that allows the users to walk through their legacy workloads and create the optimal wave plans for their migrations. Once the user is satisfied with the wave plan, they can trigger SHIFT Translator to initiate the code translation and testing – automatically.
At Next Pathway our mandate is to automate the entire end-to-end process of migrating legacy workloads to the cloud.
Coming out of the 2022 Snowflake Data Cloud World Tour @ Mumbai, we are excited about the innovations coming out of Snowflake and our ability to bring more customers to the Snowflake Data Cloud.
