Reflecting on an Incredible First Year at Next Pathway

Pablo Picasso once said, “To know what you are going to draw; you have to begin drawing”. In many respects, this is how I reflect on my first year of building the Next Pathway India team – it’s been a work in progress.

Before joining Next Pathway, I had spent five years at LTI where I built flourishing data practices for the Manufacturing, and Oil & Gas industries and helped integrate a data science company into the company’s service offering. LTI provided me with interesting opportunities and a free hand to lead; for which I will always be grateful. I was very aware that every industry was moving to the cloud. A major component of moving to the cloud involves migrating legacy applications to the selected cloud platform. I had experience overseeing cloud migrations in the past; however, they were manual efforts –resource intensive, time consuming, risky, and expensive. I was keen to find a better way to expedite the migration process and solve this problem.

Then I met Chetan Mathur, CEO of Next Pathway. What drew me to Next Pathway was the fact that they had built technology that simplified the cloud migration process through automation. Next Pathway was able to take virtually every step of the migration process and apply automation, from planning, translation to testing. Moreover, they had tackled some of the biggest technical hurdles to moving legacy workloads to the cloud; including the translation of complex stored procedures, the translation of ETL platforms and the ability to crawl through legacy databases to extract meaningful information required to plan and execute a migration to the cloud. What Next Pathway had achieved was truly innovative.

I was attracted by the chance to help build a new office for Next Pathway in Pune, and in the process help to extend and improve an industry leading Cloud automation migration company. I knew I could bring value by extending the service arm of Next Pathway to India, APAC and the EMEA regions. My goal was to enhance Next Pathway’s delivery capabilities with a highly skilled team in India and provide a basis to service customers on a global scale.

Buddha said, The Mind is everything. What you think you become”. I always thought of myself as a self-starter and when the Next Pathway opportunity came, I was eager to realize my personal and professional goals.

I opened the office of Next Pathway India during the COVID pandemic and while I managed under this difficult and unusual circumstance, I began building our team. A year later, Next Pathway India is a strong, passionate and talented group that collaborates with the Next Pathway head office in a seamless manner. We’ve achieved our goal of extending our delivery capabilities, allowing us to service clients, cloud providers and partners across the globe.

As I look forward to the future, I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. Next Pathway is leading the cloud migration space, continuing to innovate on their platform to make it easier, cheaper, and faster for companies to move legacy workloads to the cloud. A great example is our recent partnership with Microsoft to provide our technology to their Azure customers. Our partnerships with cloud providers and global system integrators allow us the ability to modernize our customer’s business, enable digital transformation and truly realize the potential of a cloud-first strategy. I am proud of our Next Pathway India team, all that we’ve accomplished and our ability to make an impact on businesses around the world. The future is very bright for Next Pathway India.
